A historic palette of art.
The Modern Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro is an important institution on the national art scene. Situated near the Santos Dumont airport in the Flamengo Park, the MAM is home to no less than 11 000 pieces including a large selection from the Gilberto Chateaubriand collection (left to the museum in 1993).
The collections within represent the largest fund of 20th century art in Brazil. Fernand Léger, Alberto Giacometti, Jean Arp, Poliakov, Anita Malfatti and Rosangela Rennó are a few of the artists who's work is displayed at this prestigious and fascinating museum.
